Designed by SaunaLife and handcrafted in Northern Europe, this package pairs the Model S2B tub, a contoured black fiberglass basin wrapped in black Thermo-Spruce, with the AP-1 combination chiller/heater. The tub arrives fully assembled. The chiller runs on standard 110–120V household power. You set the temperature from the on-unit touchscreen, the included remote, or your phone.

Cold immersion and warm-water soaking are two of the oldest recovery practices there are. The S2BC puts both within a few steps of your back door, with space to share the routine with a partner.

Installation & Power Requirements

•      Electrical: 110–120V, 60Hz. A dedicated, code-compliant 15-amp circuit (14 AWG) installed by a licensed electrician is recommended. Avoid power strips; if an extension cord is unavoidable, use a single-outlet 14 AWG cord.

•      Foundation: A level, stable base at least 3 inches above surrounding ground, such as concrete blocks or strips over compacted gravel, or a patio or pavement. The filled tub weighs more than 2,000 lbs, so the surface must be rated to carry that load.

•      Chiller placement: Level with the tub or slightly lower, with the tub water line above the chiller inlet. Freestanding, not against a wall or in a closed cabinet. Allow at least 20 inches of clearance on the sides and front.

•      Plumbing: 3/4-inch NPT chiller connections; 1-inch tub drain. Connect chiller inlet to tub outlet and chiller outlet to tub inlet, open both valves fully, and fill the tub before powering on.

•      Before first use: Keep the chiller upright and unplugged for 24 hours after delivery. Make sure the filter housing is full of water with no air leaks before startup.

•      Outdoor installation: When installed outdoors, the chiller must be protected with a weatherproof cover, and a shade structure is recommended. Unplug and cover it during heavy rain, flooding, or direct sun above 95°F. In freezing weather, move the chiller indoors, drain the tub, and leave the drain valve open.

•      Shipping: $695 flat rate is included in price to the continental US. Ships LTL freight with curbside delivery. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico: please contact us for a quote.

•      Delivery: Plan for help moving the tub (approx. 396 lbs packaged) from the curb to its final location.

Maintenance

•      Check the main and secondary filters about every 10 uses; replace the main filter on the schedule in the owner's manual

•      Every 6 months, run spa cleanser through the system for 2 hours, then drain and refill, and blow dust out of the chiller fan with compressed air

•      Keep water chemistry balanced and drain and refill periodically as directed in the owner's manual

•      Treat the Thermo-Spruce with exterior-grade wood oil at least once a year; clean with mild household detergent and a soft cloth, never chlorine-based cleaners

•      Use an insulated cover between sessions to keep out debris and hold temperature (SaunaLife S2 Cover sold separately)

•      Protect the chiller from weather as outlined above, and winterize in freezing conditions

•      Black Thermo-Spruce is a natural wood with a dark finish; expect natural color variation and weathering over time outdoors

Warranty

SaunaLife provides a 2-year limited warranty on the plunge tub and a 2-year limited warranty on the water chiller, from the date of delivery, for residential use by the original purchaser through an authorized reseller. SaunaLife will repair or replace defective parts at its discretion. The warranty does not cover labor for removal or reinstallation, normal wear, weathering or natural wood characteristics, transit damage, freeze damage, or damage from misuse. Commercial use, alterations, or unauthorized repairs void the warranty.
